In this blog, we’ll dive into a case study of a recent client who purchased a house with an outdated, small basement theater and was looking for a professional upgrade. Our process began with a detailed analysis of every parameter of the basement room.

Preparing the Space
As we assessed the room, excavation became necessary to create space within the wall to install a high-performance projector. We crafted a 5x5 ft vault, providing a specialized home for the projector to ensure its optimal performance. The room underwent a complete transformation, stripped down to its studs and meticulously reframed to isolate sound. This isolation–which extended to the types of doors we used–ensured that the theater could deliver an immersive experience without sound bleeding in or out!
High-End Audio
The room’s audio setup became its centerpiece, featuring top-of-the-line Meyer Sound speakers strategically placed for an encompassing experience. And we didn’t stop there; two VLFCs (Very Low-Frequency Channels) were added to introduce sensations that one could feel but not necessarily hear. Acoustic panels were seamlessly integrated, and ongoing room treatments are underway by our team to fine-tune the sound for perfection!
Our Attention to Detail
Precision became paramount throughout the project, as even the slightest adjustments affected the entire room - demanding recalculations and meticulous checks from our integrators. This professional attention to detail extended to the room’s HVAC system. Our team extended the length of ducting to distance the sound of the running machine from the theater, ensuring a seamless, immersive audio experience.
